Dear Friends,
CFM - Bible College, Cairo
Strong pillars. In Cairo they build up, due to a lack of land. Pastor Saad (left), building a bible college facility for CFM’s missionary training in the Middle East.
Our partner in Egypt, Pastor Ibrahim Saad, has long had a vision to reach out in the Middle East with pastoral training and the gospel. He said he has cancer and loves spending his life now walking in that vision in partnership with CFM. It’s wonderful how the Lord joins people together. We see his divine hand so often. Please pray for Pastor Saad. He is a lovely brother.
CFM - Children Leaders’ Seminar
Fifty CFM children’s leaders go through a second seven-day intensive seminar/ discussion/ prayer groups, with Loom International guests - a team of nine from six foreign nations, sponsored by Orphan’s Promise.
If There is Hatred - Why?
More than a decade ago we walked through a dusty poverty-stricken township close to Wurin Alheri. Over 1,000 people had been brutally killed in the area: the army briefly intervened, then left. We had just spent time with an “enemy” king in his house and the community women’s leader, in her house. We walked past a mosque and heard children inside chanting the quran. To my ears, growing up in another culture, it sounded radical, hateful. But having spent time with the children’s families we realised that this was all they had for their children. In some ways, they were like my mother, who gave me the best at school as a child. This is all these mothers had! We felt compassion to help, so we bought schoolbooks and maths instruments, and other school supports. Many were in tears, including soldiers who visited.
Sometimes we say such communities breed hatred and we don’t treat them as people. Jesus came to change our hearts in this way. We need to ask, if there is hatred, why?
Some reasons might include:
Religious extremism taking advantage of people
Severe oppression
People killed in their community
Globalism training them in radicalism to use as proxies
Poverty due to community corruption and due to globalism
Christians often get through this better because we have the love of Jesus. We can forgive and recover. This is the love and forgiveness we need to share with others. It’s compassion that overcomes a multitude of sins. The army has a part in overcoming conflict, but the light of the church makes soldiers of light. In our region, this light lived out changed everything. Christians and Muslims alike shake their heads in wonder at the way of Christ. They stood against terrorism and embraced us and our message.
Ask about those who hate. Ask how we can love and help them to be free?
Wurin Alheri - Wet Season Farming
Back at Wurin Alheri, this is one of our youngest citrus orchards. Students who can’t afford to travel during the June/ July practical ministry period stay on site to help out while they do outreach crusades in nearby townships. They are preparing the ground in our orchards to plant local beans. This crop puts nitrogen back into the soil. The military on site don’t like tall crops like corn, which obscure their view. We are farming corn (maize) only on selected fields.
Giving God’s Light Away
Building in Egypt, making the best use of space to train missionaries for a world divided by hatred, desperately needing gospel light. Farming at Wurin Alheri, maximising space to raise food to restore, rebuild and equip terrorism survivors to share the gospel in a region desperately needing gospel light. Training children’s workers to minister to families and children, rebuilding communities in the love of Jesus, one family at a time.
If God has enabled you to help financially, please see below on how to give, with or without tax deductibility. Thank you for standing with CFM in prayer! And thank you to those who generously support.
Blessings,
Kent, Ruth & CFM team.

Our Faith:
We believe in One creator God, who created all things. The incarnation of God in Christ, as redeemer, son and heir of creation. The death of Christ for our sins, his bodily resurrection on the third day and his current rule over the nations. God the Holy Spirit, the agent of salvation and restoration in the church of Jesus Christ. The resurrection of all humanity from the dead and the final judgement. Eternal life for those of faith and eternal destruction for the godless.
