Arrival at Wurin Alheri
Arriving at Abuja airport back into Nigeria was very pleasant. The officials were sincerely welcoming and helpful. Arriving back at Wurin Alheri, we are very grateful - grateful for the kindness of the Lord and all his promises he has kept so far this year. Everything in the ministry is flourishing. Even our son Daniel has never been doing better than now. We are thankful for all your prayers and support.
Francophone Students
It looks like our Francophone students will have to leave out of Nigeria in a week. We can’t process their passports in Nigeria. We will support them while they travel during this six-week practical ministry training period for all our students (June-July), until they are able to return with all that is now required for them. We will also help rebuild the house of CFM’s Francophone dean in Cameroon, which recently burnt down, so students can stay there while preparing themselves.
Light is Stronger than Darkness
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” (John 1:5) This wonderful gospel narrative in the opening of John copies the opening of Genesis: the birth and resurrection of Christ is a re-creation. When God said, “let there be light,” darkness had no choice but to retreat. Now the church is that light of the world, so when we stand up and shine, darkness cannot withstand the light. God’s creation-transforming light is in the church, but we must shine that light, even in fellowship with Christ’s sufferings.
Isaiah tells the great gospel narrative of new creation through Messiah’s church: “See, darkness covers the earth, and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you, and his glory appears over you.” (Isaiah 60:2) In history, and today, this is the outcome of darkness: exposure of the light and greater ground taken by the truth.
Can You Help with This Project?
Our first grant has been used up. Ruth is now searching for donors to complete this building.
The building is home for 130 crisis-care girls, a meeting hall, also to be used as an exam hall for our high school. A two-story building, with six staff apartments, 3 offices and a storeroom.

Correction is Coming
It’s difficult to comment on the global situation without emotional attachment. There are clearly problems on many fronts, at a level we have not seen before. I began writing about this six years ago, when zeroing in on issues destroying local communities in Africa. We noted the power corporations have obtained in recent decades, with free capital flows, without national protection. Our government is meant to balance the powers, but now, corporate interests, like sponsors in football, largely control the public narrative, the government and even courts. Governments don’t rule for their people.
This has impacted populations everywhere. In the West, many have been reduced to near serfdom, with high rents, unaffordable housing, energy and food costs, ravaged farms, ever increasing taxes. Nations have suffered cultural colonialism, satanic at its core, with bitterness and hatred against all forms of godliness, to divide and disempower communities, transferring political power to the elite, “justifying” censorship and totalitarian controls.
High immigration, corrupt social welfare costs and massive bureaucratic controls over small business, means many must work to 70 years to afford retirement. The answer is to promote godliness, stop hindering small business enterprise, stop hegemonic rule, and start building flourishing communities, domestic industries and economies in all nations. This is the only fix. Building godliness and prosperity together brings justice.
Normal processes for dealing with high corruption are failing. Something is going to give. Correction is pressing in, and the seams are about to give way. We pray that extremes don’t spread. Lord, put mercy in people’s hearts, to allow genuine and full correction, without extremes from various sides taking over. The more correction is resisted, the more extremes are provoked. The response must be non-violent and for the welfare of all.

Our Faith:
We believe in One creator God, who created all things. The incarnation of God in Christ, as redeemer, son and heir of creation. The death of Christ for our sins, his bodily resurrection on the third day and his current rule over the nations. God the Holy Spirit, the agent of salvation and restoration in the church of Jesus Christ. The resurrection of all humanity from the dead and the final judgement. Eternal life for those of faith and eternal destruction for the godless.
