Dear Friends,
Korna Joseph was head student at CFM when he graduated from our bible college He returned to his Benue State, the state we reported on in our last newsletter, where three of our missions stations were attacked last week by militants: people were killed and livelihoods destroyed.
Korna helped lead 900 fulltime students and 100 coordinators.
Reconciling Tribes through Christ
In Benue State, two neighbouring Christian tribes, Jukun and Tiv, have been irreconcilable for generations. Even those who came to CFM as students separated themselves on our campus. Korna brought them together as one group and taught them Christ’s love. Now, back in Benue State, Korna is doing the same at state level, gathering elders and other leaders, even those normally associated with militants, together to reconcile for a better future.
Militant Attacks in Benue State
Pictured above are militants in Benue State. These are not Fulani, but local indigenes who join with Fulani as terrorists in the region. A Catholic bishop goes into the bush and stays with the militants, sharing Christ. He brings those who believe back to the city for discipleship. Recently, many laid down their weapons and believed. This is what Korna said:
“CFM said we may have war because the church is not doing what Christ, King of Peace, told her to do. Nothing brought peace to Benue State, until God's servant Bishop Isaac Duku started a peace movement, seen as nonsense, but today peace is restoring.
This is not just for Benue State, but a call to all believers to do what Christ asked us to do. Preaching reconciliation is a goal of the gospel. I'm in Christ’s peace moment with all I have, even if it's going to cost me. Church, let's redefine success. May the success of our master Jesus Christ be ours, who did not care for himself, but for all.”
CFM’s Response
After recent attacks, we have reached out to those in our missions stations with support in their displacement. We have sent funds for food, sent clothing, and sent help for the children staying in homes of our other church members for safety. Our plan, funds permitting, is to keep helping those from our missions stations until they are able to return to their land and restart farming. Please see our last newsletter for details.
Gwagwalada Crisis Children’s Home
Buying Land
This is part of the compound for our 250 children at CFM’s Gwagwalada Children’s Crisis Care Home and school. To the right, there are several more buildings behind the large two story building you can see.
We started our second children’s crisis-care home in central Nigeria ten years ago. It has 131 children, displaced through major crises. It also has a nursery to senior secondary school (250 low-income local and Crisis Home children), three churches and four mission stations in rural regions nearby. It is led by Toyin and Ronke Alabi, who have four children of their own and care for Ronke’s mother, with advanced dementia (rare in Nigeria), in their home. Toyin’s mother, a grandmother to the whole children’s home, passed away two weeks ago, leaving a big hole in the whole big Crisis Home family.
CFM has rented the facilities above for 10 years. The owner has sold the property and is evicting us. We are trying to stay till December. Toyin has remarkably raised N10 million, about a third of the price for a decent sized block of land. Ruth and I would like to raise the other N20m, about A$25,000, just for land. This land will be to build a permanent site for the children’s home, worship centre and school, for our current children and for the many others who will pass through in coming years. Please let us know if you would like to contribute. Thank you.

The Conquering Holy Spirit
We live in a world that is by-and-large “post-nation.” Since WWII, we have adopted “tolerance” as liberty, deconstructing family, faith and nation, to live for nothing above the self. This is one way of “sowing to the wind to reap the whirlwind.” (Hosea 8:7) Karl Popper wrote “Open Society,” and mentored George Soros, part of a group instigating colour revolutions globally. The “Open Society” is, in fact, what it claimed to be against: fascism. Open Society dictates personal values and “freedoms”, forcing all down the “garden path” to a digital transhumanist world. Politicians largely don’t lead in their nation’s interests but obey others. There is no genuine philosophy in this, as Popper posited, no genuine “compassion,” but a global scam enriching the elite, impoverishing the ordinary. This is Nigeria today. It’s many nations! After years of wars, terrorism and economic suppression, it has brought us to the brink. The good news is there is a swing back to faith, families and nations, and we are all a part of this big revival. It has already begun.
“Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty.” (2 Corinthians 3:7) Christ is risen and has conquered death and the enemy.

Bible college students have finished their practical ministry period around Nigeria and are now doing some farming before returning to CFM from July 12th.
Please see below on how to give if God touches you to do so.
Blessings,
Kent, Ruth & CFM team.

Our Faith:
We believe in One creator God, who created all things. The incarnation of God in Christ, as redeemer, son and heir of creation. The death of Christ for our sins, his bodily resurrection on the third day and his current rule over the nations. God the Holy Spirit, the agent of salvation and restoration in the church of Jesus Christ. The resurrection of all humanity from the dead and the final judgement. Eternal life for those of faith and eternal destruction for the godless.
