Dear Friends,
How Did He Know?
And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” (Luke 23:42)
How did this criminal know that the man beside him, naked, crucified in weakness and shame, like a slave, was the Lord of all? Did he learn it at theology school? Was he a biblical scholar? Did someone tell him, or persuade him? True, the Gospels, including calvary, were written as a parody of Caesar, but it would take faith to see the true Lord.
It reminded me of the text “Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.” (Matt 16:17) He knew, because God showed him in his heart. That’s the only reason he knew.
“I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.” (Matt 11:25-26)
And this is where we meet true justice, not in the world, but on the cross, next to the Son (Heir) of God.
Nigerian Terrorism
Ruth and I drove through Jos yesterday. We remembered what it was like for so many years, always so dangerous. Today it is peaceful. It is just the economic “apocalypse” that remains to be fixed. When Boko Haram emerged many years back, the then industrialist Nigerian president now claims Obama instigated a regime change. That will soon be investigated. We are on our way out of the past, finally. Though it takes time, it’s a big relief. Globally, so much crime will be going under investigation. “It’s going to be biblical” (epic).
“Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place… For the bed is too short to stretch oneself on, and the covering too narrow to wrap oneself in (nowhere to hide).” (Isaiah 28:17, 20)

Wurin Alheri Filling Up
Wurin Alheri is filling up with bible college students as they return from practical ministry service, and as new students enrol. Each Wednesday evening at bible studies, students respond by discussing how they are applying what they learn throughout the week.
Only God is righteous, but he is kind, merciful, when the world turns away from brutality to others. Remembering our own failures we can follow Jesus in forgiving others, making room for God to work transformation in our own lives. Thank God for his kind of justice: forgiveness, renewal, rebuilding lives for the repentant, and stopping evil in its tracks. Thank you for your support for God’s work through CFM. Thank you for praying. Thank you for giving.
Kent, Ruth & CFM team.

Our Faith:
We believe in One creator God, who created all things. The incarnation of God in Christ, as redeemer, son and heir of creation. The death of Christ for our sins, his bodily resurrection on the third day and his current rule over the nations. God the Holy Spirit, the agent of salvation and restoration in the church of Jesus Christ. The resurrection of all humanity from the dead and the final judgement. Eternal life for those of faith and eternal destruction for the godless.
